VIRTUAL HERBALISM CONFERENCE - DAY 4

Virtual Plant Walk with Jim Mcdonald

Take a virtual plant walk with the beloved herbalist jim mcDonald! With decades of experience teaching in the Great Lakes region and beyond, jim is renowned for his engaging, down-to-earth style and deep knowledge of plants and herbal energetics. Through his classes, plant walks, and storytelling, jim brings a sense of wonder and a sense of humor to learning about herbalism. Through this virtual plant walk, jim will guide us on a journey of discovery in the world of plants, sharing his passion and expertise along the way.

In 1994, jim mcdonald's life changed when he drank tea from a wild plant harvested from the land he lived upon. Since those first sips of tea, his life in the woods and meadows of Southeast Michigan has been centered on the plants & ecosystems of that land, and sharing their virtues.

jim's approach to herbcraft is deeply rooted in the land he lives upon, and blends traditional European folk influences with 19th century Eclectic teachings and Physiomedical vitalism. He conveys his herbal wisdom with story, experience, humour, common sense and lore to students, clients, random passersby and readers of his websites.

He runs an annual 3-season course Lindera and is one of the organizers of the Great Lakes Herb Faire. jim is a community herbalist, a wildcrafter and medicine maker, and has been an ardent student of the most learned teachers of herbcraft… the plants themselves.
