A clinical herbalist with a master’s in herbal medicine, Mimi is known for her approachable teaching style and ability to simplify complex herbal concepts. With over a decade of leadership as Executive Director of the American Herbalists Guild, she fosters supportive communities for herbalists. Mimi is also a contributing educator at the Herbal Academy and author of The National Geographic Herbal. Her connection to sacred plants is inspired by her Colombian and Mexican grandmothers and Latin American Folk Herbalism.

Mimi Prunella Hernandez M.S., R.H. (AHG), is a clinical herbalist, educator, and author of The National Geographic Herbal. She served over a decade as Executive Director of the American Herbalists Guild, dedicated to building a strong and supportive professional community for herbalists. 

Mimi received a Botanical Excellence Award in 2023 from the American Botanical Council for her work as a Mark Blumenthal Herbal Community Builder. She has mentored students in clinical and community herbalism and is known for her ability to simplify complex topics. Co-stewarding The PonderLand Native Plant Sanctuary with her husband, Terry, Mimi educates others on native and medicinal plants. 

Her herbal practice is rooted in Latin American Folk Herbalism, inspired by her Colombian and Mexican grandmothers. Mimi finds fulfillment in kitchen herbalism, delivering herbal house calls, and caring for her children, Anaïs, Evan, Talan, and several pets.
