VIRTUAL HERBALISM CONFERENCE - DAY 4

Wellness in Plain Sight: Everyday Kitchen Staples for Holistic Support with Jessica Bergeron

Join mother, folk herbalist, and ethnobotanist Jess Bergeron to explore practical ways to bring herbs into daily life. With years of experience crafting herbal preparations and mentoring others, Jess shares how to build a home kitchen apothecary, select herbs for common family needs, and create simple, effective preparations from your own home. This session bridges herbal theory and everyday practice, inviting participants to deepen their connection to plants and infuse daily routines with the nourishment, care, and joy that herbalism offers.

Discussion Highlights:

  • Importance of starting wellness practices in the kitchen
  • Everyday herbal staples in the pantry and their uses for health support
  • Favorite herbal habits that set the tone for the day
  • Incorporating and using herbs to support gut health
  • Tea herbs for stress and mood support
  • Herbal broths and tips for enhancing health
  • Small breakfast swaps to steady energy and focus
  • Gentle, safe kitchen herbs for children’s cold or flu support

Jess Bergeron is an ethnobotanist, herbalist, and founder of JKB Kitchen, a modern movement reconnecting women and families to the ancient art of kitchen medicine. With a background in ethnobotany from the University of Hawai‘i and years spent studying with traditional healers around the world, Jess bridges ancestral wisdom with practical, everyday herbalism.

Her work empowers mothers and home healers to make their own medicine—from teas and tinctures to broths and beauty rituals—using the herbs and spices found right in their kitchens. Through her beloved Kitchen Medicine Mentorship, the JKB Kitchen Collective, and a growing library of ebooks and guides, she’s teaching thousands to reclaim confidence, creativity, and connection through plants.

Rooted in her family’s daily life on Kaua‘i, Jess’s approach blends science, story, and soul. She’s redefining what it means to be a modern herbalist—accessible, joyful, and wildly alive to the medicine growing all around us.
