Mary is the founder of Farmacy Herbs, an organic farmer, and community herbalist dedicated to personal and planetary healing through herbs, nutrition, and lifestyle. Her philosophy emphasizes supporting health rather than treating disease, rooted in community, activism, and health justice. Mary teaches Western Herbalism at Brown University Medical School. Since 2006, she has led the Farmacy Herbal Education and Training Program, guiding over 1,000 students in herbal medicine, health justice, and nutritional healing. She has taught widely at hospitals, schools, conferences, and special interest groups, including the New England Women’s Conference and the International Herb Symposium. Her herbal expertise comes from decades of hands-on practice, mentorship under experienced herbalists, and direct public engagement, creating programs that integrate anatomy, physiology, nutrition, and in-depth herbal healing.
