VIRTUAL HERBALISM CONFERENCE - DAY 5

Skin Food: A Holistic Approach to Crafting Botanical Skincare with Natalya King

Join Natalya King, founder of BodyLove by Tal, whose kitchen experiments for glowing skin sparked a journey into herbalism. A dedicated Herbal Academy student, Natalya blends her expertise with personal experience to create accessible, natural skincare. She now runs an international, minority woman-owned business offering over 60 clean, small-batch botanical products, including a storefront in Parker, Colorado. This session explores her path, herbal formulations, and empowering approaches to self-care and plant-based healing.

Discussion Highlights:

  • Defining “skin food” and its role in herbal skincare
  • Favorite extraction methods and topical applications for supporting skin health
  • Formulation flow from concept to finished product, balancing action, texture, scent, and story
  • Layering hydrosols, humectants, and oils for hydration across skin types and climates
  • Preserving water-based formulas while staying true to botanical principles
  • Supporting the skin microbiome with targeted herbs and ingredients
  • Antioxidant-rich plants to combat aging, sun exposure, pollutants, and stress
  • Designing inclusive herbal skincare for all skin tones, types, and concerns

Natalya “Tal” King is a certified herbalist, holistic skincare formulator, and the founder of BodyLove by Tal — a handcrafted wellness brand rooted in plant medicine and intentional living. What began in her kitchen as a search for glowing skin and natural healing has evolved into a thriving warehouse-based business serving customers worldwide.

A graduate of Herbal Academy and Ecoversity, Tal has turned her passion for herbs into a mission: to help others reconnect with nature through whole-body healing. With deep Southern roots and a background shaped by her mother’s holistic influence, Tal blends ancestral wisdom with modern herbal education. Through her products, teachings, and community, she continues to inspire others to live cleaner, heal deeply, and find the beauty in balance.
